Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam and their communication skills

I send some information about our barcamp event to three chambers of commerce: AmCham, AusCham and EuroCham. AmCham responded quick and nicely and promised to announce our event - what never happenend until today (even if I reminded them). AusCham and EuroCham never responded. I had in another case the same experience with the German Business Association.

It seems that beside organizing charity events they should work also on their communication skills.

Dear President-Elect Obama;

We're writing from AMCHAM Vietnam. We were wondering if it's ok for Americans to talk to people from other counries again? Our previous boss was deadset against this and encouraged us to be evassive, stand-offish and downright rude if it came to it, to keep other countries out of our national nickers.

Now our directive seems less clear. We've never worked for a homeboy before. Can you please have your staff send us the new protocol so that we may act in accordance with the new national guidelines.
